LightNet (operated by Wisdom Age Metaverse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) (“LightNet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you visit ourlightnet.org or take part in our programs, courses, events, and text-message program.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide to us, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, mailing address, donation or course-purchase details (processed by our payment providers — we do not store full card numbers), account login details, your responses to our quizzes, surveys, and forms, and any messages you send us.

Information collected automatically when you use our website, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring links, gathered through cookies and analytics tools.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve our website, courses, events, and programs;

  • To communicate with you, including by email and, if you opt in, by SMS text message;

  • To process donations and course purchases;

  • To respond to your questions and provide support;

  • To send administrative and, where permitted, informational or inspirational messages; and

3. SMS / text messaging

When you opt in to our text-message program (through our sign-up form at ourlightnet.org/sms or our course quizzes), we collect your mobile phone number to send you the messages you requested, such as inspirational and educational texts, practice prompts, and course reminders. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help.No mobile information — including your phone number and your SMS opt-in consent — will be shared with or sold to third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for any purpose, including marketing. SMS opt-in consent is never shared with any third party under any circumstances. We disclose your mobile number only to the service provider that delivers the messages on our behalf, and solely to provide the messaging service.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only as follows: with trusted service providers and subcontractors who help us operate our website and programs (for example, web hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and SMS delivery), bound by confidentiality and only as needed to perform their work; when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of our nonprofit’s assets. We do not sell your personal information, and as stated above, text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand how it is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, after which we delete or anonymize it.

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We operate in the United States. If you access our services from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
