When you message us on WhatsApp or we message you through the WhatsApp Business Platform, we may process your WhatsApp phone number, message content you send to us, delivery status updates, message timestamps, template usage, and webhook events sent by Meta. If you access our website, we may collect basic analytics such as IP address, device information, and pages visited.
We use your information to provide customer support, send service notifications and permitted marketing messages, manage opt-ins and opt-outs, maintain message logs for fraud and abuse prevention, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data.
Where required, we rely on your consent to receive WhatsApp messages from us. In other cases we process data to perform a contract with you or to pursue our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services.
We share data with service providers that help us operate our systems (for example, Meta Platforms Ireland/Inc. for WhatsApp transport, hosting providers, analytics, or customer support tools). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and may only use it on our instructions.
We keep WhatsApp message logs for up to 180 days and then delete or anonymize them unless we must retain them longer to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Template content and configuration data may be stored as long as the template remains in use.

Where data is transferred outside your country, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be communicated through our usual channels.
Data Deletion Instructions

If you have interacted with LightNet via our WhatsApp number and wish to request deletion of your personal data, use one of the following methods.
Email Adham@lightnet.org using the subject line Delete my data and include your WhatsApp phone number with country code and any conversation dates you wish us to delete. We will confirm deletion within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Alternatively, send a WhatsApp message to our business account with the text DELETE. We will verify ownership of the number and process the deletion request.
Deletion covers message logs, template send records, and related metadata that we control. Messages stored by WhatsApp/Meta are governed by their own retention rules. Backups will be pruned on their normal cycle.
